Is this show in English?

Yes! All Weird Uncle Comedy shows are 100% English-language, no Dutch required. We're proud to bring international, English-speaking comedy to Nijmegen, Leiden, and The Hague.

Do I need to speak Dutch to enjoy the show?

Not at all, every headliner performs in English, and our audiences are a friendly mix of internationals and English-speaking locals.

Where can I find English comedy shows in Leiden, Nijmegen, or The Hague?

If you're looking for English-language comedy in these cities, Weird Uncle Comedy runs regular shows at Tierney's Irish Pub in Nijmegen, QBus Club in Leiden, and Branoul Theater in The Hague. Check our Show Tickets page for upcoming dates and book your spot!

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are available through our Show Tickets page for each city. You can also find them for Leiden and Nijmegen on Eventbrite and Tix4All.

What time do shows start?

Depends on the show! In Nijmegen we start at 20:00, doors open at 19:30, the bar is open all day, so grab a pint or some food beforehand. 

In Leiden we start a bit later at 20:30, and the doors open from 19:30 and the bar is open from 19:30 also.  In The Hague, we have 2 shows, 1 starts at at 19:00 and the other at 21:00 - the bar is open before each show so you can come a bit early and have a drink! 

How often do you run shows?

We run regular monthly shows in each city, typically one show per month in Nijmegen, Leiden, and The Hague. New shows are added regularly, so check back often or sign up for our mailing list to get notified about upcoming dates!

Can I bring a group?

Absolutely, our shows are perfect for birthdays, work outings, or just a big group night out. Contact us for group bookings and we can arrange the best seating for your group.

What's the vibe like at your shows?

Our shows are relaxed, fun, and welcoming. You'll find a mix of locals, internationals, tourists; in general comedy lovers in a chilled-out atmosphere. The comedians are international headliners from the UK, US, and European circuits, and our MCs keep things engaging without being too intense. It's the kind of night where you can relax, laugh, and enjoy good company, whether it's a date night, a night with friends, or solo!

Are there age restrictions?

Most of our shows are geared towards adult comedy content. Some shows may be suitable for younger audiences, but we recommend checking the specific event details. If you have questions about a particular show, reach out to us at info@weirduncle.nl and we'll let you know what's appropriate to the best of our knowledge. In the event of children attending an event, material cannot be modified to suit a younger audience! 

Can I take photos or videos during the show?

We ask that you keep your phone away during performances, it's distracting for both the comedians and fellow audience members. But if you can discretely take a few pix of a performer, then go ahead! Please do not take clips of performers. If you do take pictures, do post them to our socials and tag the comedians. You may of course take photos before the show or during the break!

Is heckling allowed?

We love an engaged crowd, but please keep it respectful and let the comedians do the joking! The MCs will do crowd work and chat with the audience. If you really do not want to be spoken to, please mention it to whoever is on the door, mention where you are seated and they will inform the MC. We do not book comedians who pick on or bully people so everyone can relax and enjoy the show!

What's your refund or cancellation policy?

If an event is cancelled by us, you'll receive a full refund. If you need to cancel your ticket purchase, refund eligibility depends on how close to the show date you cancel, up to 7 days can be refunded, but not after.  If you have special circumstances, reach out to us at info@weirduncle.nl and we'll do our best to help.

How do I hire a comedian for my private event?
