What makes us different is our carefully curated network of comedians — acts we know, trust, and are genuinely excited to bring to the stage. Every headliner is hand-picked for quality: experienced, award-winning, and nominated comedians from the UK, US, and European circuits, selected specifically for our English-language audience in the Netherlands.
We've hosted acts with major UK TV credits, including Ria Lina and Lara Ricote (Live at the Apollo), Dan Tiernan (Mock the Week), and Joe Rooney and Kevin Gildea from the beloved sitcom Father Ted.
Alongside our headliners, every show features a "talent spot" — a short set from a promising new act we've chosen to champion. Our openers are experienced local comedians, regulars on the Dutch comedy scene, hand-picked to warm up the room perfectly before the headliner takes over.
Straight from Limerick, Ireland, Karl Spain is a stand-up veteran with over twenty years on the circuit. He won the RTÉ Award for Best New Act in 2000, and went on to front his own hit TV series, Karl Spain Wants a Woman, followed by Karl Spain Wants to Rock. A festival favourite, Karl has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Just for Laughs Montreal, and every Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival since 2002, alongside shows across the US, Middle East, Australia and Hong Kong. As a writer he's worked across sitcom, topical TV and award shows, and he's a longtime supporter of causes including the Samaritans and the Irish Cancer Society. Sharp, warm and unmistakably Irish, Karl brings big laughs and brilliant storytelling to every stage he's on.
